Ketamine Assisted Therapy
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers fast-acting relief for emotional and physical pain, making it an effective treatment for those struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain. As an FDA approved medicine for treatment resistant depression, ketamine can help where traditional therapies may have failed. I guide clients through a 2-month protocol that includes preparatory sessions, guided ketamine sessions, and integration therapy to foster long-term healing and emotional growth. Serving Mill Valley, Marin County, and the San Francisco Bay Area, I offer a safe, supportive space for deep personal transformation.
My Approach to Ketamine Assisted Therapy
If you’ve tried regular talk therapy and other healing modalities but still feel stuck, ketamine-assisted therapy may provide a new path to relief. I follow a 2-month protocol to ensure a comprehensive approach to your healing journey. The protocol includes:
3 Preparatory Sessions: We begin with three psychotherapy sessions to prepare you mentally and emotionally for the ketamine experience. During these sessions, we will set personalized intentions to help you make the most of the journey.
6 Guided Ketamine Sessions: Ketamine is administered orally in six guided therapy sessions. I’ll be with you throughout each session, offering real-time reflection and support as you navigate your experience. This phase allows for deeper emotional processing, giving you the space to access new levels of awareness and healing.
6 Integration Therapy Sessions: Following the ketamine sessions, we engage in six psychedelic integration therapy sessions to help you process your experiences and apply them to your daily life. This step is essential for transforming the insights from ketamine into lasting personal growth. Learn more about psychedelic integration.
Healing with ketamine is not a linear path. In conjunction with guided therapy, we can access places of deeper consciousness and free previously stuck emotions and experiences that are stored in the body/mind. Many clients report feeling lighter, more energized, and more hopeful after ketamine sessions.
What is Ketamine and Who is it For?
Ketamine, first developed as a medical anesthetic in the 1970s, is now widely recognized for its rapid antidepressant and pain-relieving effects when administered in low doses. Ketamine works by repairing neurotransmitters, creating new synaptic pathways, and calming the excitatory parts of the brain. This allows for immediate relief from emotional suffering, particularly for those with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain.
At lower doses, ketamine softens emotional defenses, allowing for deeper therapeutic work during integration sessions. At higher doses, its dissociative effects can lead to profound insights and a stronger sense of meaning and interconnectedness.
Benefits of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
Ketamine therapy is particularly effective for:
Depression: Provides fast relief for those experiencing treatment-resistant depression, often after just a few sessions.
Anxiety: Ketamine helps alleviate symptoms of anxiety, providing calm and clarity.
PTSD: For trauma survivors, ketamine offers a safe space to process and reframe traumatic experiences.
Chronic Pain: It can be used to manage chronic pain, offering relief when other methods have not been effective.
Many clients experience immediate relief from emotional suffering, allowing them to make meaningful progress in their mental health journey.

“Ketamine has been helpful in releasing mental and physical trauma that I have been holding on to for 20 years. It has also helped to curb my drinking and use of prescription drugs for pain. I have recommended ketamine assisted therapy to my friends who have confided in me about their own deep depression and suicidal thoughts, because it truly dug me out of that hole.”
